Sudan takes retaliatory action, expelling Chadian diplomats

Sudan has responded to Chad’s recent actions by expelling three Chadian diplomats from its territory, as ordered by Sudan’s foreign affairs ministry.

The move comes as a retaliatory measure after Chad declared four Sudanese diplomats working at Sudan’s embassy in N’Djamena as “persona non grata,” demanding their departure within 72 hours.

The diplomatic tension escalated after two Sudanese officials accused Chad’s government of meddling in the Khartoum conflict by providing support to the Rapid Support Forces (RSF).

In reaction to these accusations, Chad’s government denounced Sudan’s repeated statements, deeming them unacceptable, hostile, and suggesting a hidden agenda behind them.

The back-and-forth expulsions between the two neighboring countries signal a deteriorating relationship stemming from allegations of involvement in each other’s internal affairs.

The expulsion of diplomats reflects the escalating discord between Sudan and Chad, raising concerns about the stability and diplomatic ties in the region.
