Sudanese-Sudanese Dialogue Committee has launched a national initiative to open internal dialogue and help end the country’s devastating civil war.
The committee said the initiative would allow Sudanese to determine their own path forward without outside dictates or foreign guardianship.
It stressed that its role was limited to facilitating consultations and that it would not claim any mandate beyond what Sudanese parties agreed upon.
The committee said it would first consult political, civil society and community groups inside and outside Sudan to gather their concerns and proposals.
It called for written and verifiable guarantees, including an end to legal cases against Sudanese living abroad who return to participate in talks.
The committee also sought temporary immunity for participants and protection for those expressing their views during negotiations.
It urged the international community to support the dialogue process without interfering in its direction or outcome.
The initiative ultimately aims to establish a stable political transition, pave the way for free elections and strengthen lasting national unity.
