Sudanese Copts unite in fasting and prayer for lasting peace

Sudanese Copts have begun a three-day fast and prayer vigil for peace, led by Bishops Anba Sarabamoun and Anba Elijah. Worshippers across Omdurman and Khartoum are uniting in prayer, seeking divine mercy amid the country’s ongoing turmoil.

Church leaders urged faith and unity, calling for an end to bloodshed and the healing of divided hearts. They described the effort as both a spiritual cry and a message of hope for all Sudanese communities.

Amid deepening conflict and displacement, the faithful believe prayer remains their strongest refuge. Their voices now rise together, asking that peace return like rain to a parched land.
