Sudanese diaspora in London rallies for Unity and Peace Government

Hundreds of Sudanese expatriates and supporters of change took to the streets of the British capital on Saturday in a major rally voicing support for the Unity and Peace Government and the Sudan Founding Alliance (Tasis).

Demonstrators carried Sudanese flags and banners calling for an end to the war and the establishment of a civilian state founded on freedom, justice and equal citizenship. They stressed that the unity of Sudan’s land and people is a principle that cannot be compromised.

Several participants described Tasis as a national project aimed at achieving comprehensive peace and stability. They also urged the international community to support efforts to end the conflict and ease the suffering of civilians.

Organizers said the London march was part of a series of events by Sudanese communities abroad to highlight their positions on the Sudanese crisis and to reaffirm the importance of peaceful solutions.
