The Sudanese Doctors’ Network has warned that remarks by General Abdel Fattah al-Burhan risk drawing doctors into the conflict.
The group rejected claims that physicians support combat or intelligence efforts, saying such rhetoric endangers healthcare workers.
It stressed that medical staff are already operating in extreme conditions and must remain protected and neutral.
The Emergency Lawyers Group echoed concerns, warning the statements could justify targeting doctors.
Both groups urged all sides to protect medical workers and respect humanitarian norms.
