Sudanese finance minister’s niece accuses Burhan of killing youth

Political activist Ithar Khalil Ibrahim, niece of Port Sudan’s de facto finance minister Dr. Gibril Ibrahim, has issued a scathing attack on Sudanese general Abdel Fattah al-Burhan in a Facebook post that observers say exposes deepening fractures within the pro-SAF camp.

In her post, Ithar declared that Sudan will never see victory as long as Burhan remains in power, accusing him of destroying the country’s future by killing its youth. She went further, alleging that Burhan has targeted soldiers and members of the joint forces, describing him as “a thug from within and without.”

The remarks are among the most direct criticisms to emerge from inside the family of Dr. Gibril Ibrahim, one of Burhan’s closest political allies, and are being interpreted as a sign of growing internal dissent within the SAF-backed administration based in Port Sudan.

This unprecedented public rebuke highlights the rifts and mounting tensions inside the government camp as the war continues.
