
Sudanese leaders on Wednesday praised South Sudan’s President Salva Kiir Mayardit for his dedicated peace efforts in Sudan.
This came when the Deputy Chairman of Sudan’s Sovereign Council, Malik Agar Eyre, briefed President Kiir on the recently concluded consultative meeting of Sudanese political parties regarding the Juba Peace Agreement.
Presidential Advisor on National Security Affairs, Tut Gatluak Manime, stated that President Kiir has instructed relevant institutions to prepare for the upcoming dialogue between the warring parties in Sudan.
Sudan’s Ambassador Jamal Malik mentioned that the Sudanese people have welcomed all of Juba’s initiatives that aim to restore peace and social cohesion in Sudan.
Leaders from various Sudanese political parties have been meeting in Juba this week to review the Juba Agreement for Peace in Sudan and to push for ending the ongoing conflict.
Talks between the Sudanese Army and the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) began in the Saudi Arabian coastal city of Jeddah.
