A Sudanese man died suddenly at Cairo Airport on Monday while preparing to board a voluntary repatriation flight to Sudan.
Mohamed Wadah, head of the Hope Committee for Voluntary Return from Egypt, identified the deceased as Rashid Mohamed Abbas, who collapsed shortly before completing departure procedures.
The flight, operated by Badr Airlines, was part of a humanitarian programme organising free returns for displaced Sudanese nationals.
Officials said Abbas had completed all travel arrangements when the incident occurred.
Authorities have not announced the cause of death.
The repatriation initiative follows a February agreement between Sudanese and Egyptian authorities to release detainees and facilitate organised returns home.
