
Local sources reported that Sudanese singer Ibrahim Idris was killed in a drone strike that targeted the Heglig oil area in West Kordofan. Idris was considered a prominent figure in the music scene, known for his distinctive songs, including the widely popular track “Krozer al-Hawama.”
Following news of his death in the drone strike on Heglig, pages linked to the Rapid Support Forces on Facebook quickly posted tributes, describing him as a “martyr” and a “hero,” reflecting his standing among their supporters.
The incident sparked broad debate in media and political circles. Some viewed his killing as evidence of the involvement of well-known artists in the conflict, while others said it showed how the war’s targeting has widened, now affecting civilians and artists alike.
