Sudan’s RSF announce a major troop mobilisation

Sudan’s Rapid Support Forces have announced a major troop mobilisation as the country’s civil war continues to escalate.

The group’s Sudan Federal Liberation said it has deployed reserve forces from the troubled West Darfur region.

The newly mobilised troops are being sent to frontline positions to reinforce RSF units engaged in fighting against General Abdel Fattah al Burhan’s army and allied militias.

The deployment raises fears of intensified fighting at a time when the conflict has already displaced millions and worsened the humanitarian crisis.

Analysts and local observers say the arrival of additional forces could trigger heavier clashes and further destabilise parts of the country.
