Sudan’s RSF seizes northern gateway to Al Obeid

Sudan’s Rapid Support Forces (RSF) captured the northern districts of Diraesu and Alsunut in Al Obeid on Thursday, field sources said, tightening their grip on the strategic North Kordofan capital.

The two areas sit at Al Obeid’s main northern gateway, giving the Sudanese force control over key supply lines and routes leading to neighbouring states.

The advance is part of the RSF’s accelerated push to deepen its presence across North Kordofan, the sources added.

There was no immediate comment from General al-Burhan’s army (SAF).
