The Sudan Founding Alliance (TASIS) has accused General Abdel Fattah al Burhan’s army of committing systematic war crimes against unarmed civilians in recent attacks.
TASIS, in a statement on Saturday, highlighted two deadly incidents this month, calling them repeated breaches of international humanitarian law and deliberate assaults on civilian populations.
In South Kordofan’s Bayam Kasha area, the group said Burhan’s army, aligned with the Muslim Brotherhood, targeted a funeral gathering, killing seven civilians and injuring 38 others.
The statement noted this followed three airstrikes in the same area last week, which reportedly killed more than 60 civilians and wounded hundreds.
In Zalingei, Central Darfur, TASIS alleged that a military drone hit the “Khamsa Dagaig” IDP camp, killing a woman and destroying homes.
The alliance described attacks on displacement camps, hospitals, markets, and residential areas as a calculated campaign of terror and collective punishment.
TASIS called on the international community, including the UN, AU, and EU, to condemn the attacks and carry out independent investigations.
The group demanded the prosecution of those responsible, the establishment of no-fly zones to protect civilians, and increased humanitarian monitoring in affected regions.
Warning that silence only fuels further atrocities, TASIS said, “the era of impunity is coming to an end.”
Civilians in Sudan continue to face mounting casualties, leaving displacement camps and communities highly vulnerable amid ongoing conflict and insecurity.
