The TASIS government has announced the results of the Sudanese Secondary School Certificate examinations held in areas under its control across Darfur and parts of Kordofan.
The Ministry of Education and Guidance said Yusra Hamed Adam achieved the highest score nationwide, securing first place with 91.7 percent.
More than 10,000 students sat the examinations in June, marking the first time the certificate exams had been conducted in TASIS-controlled areas since war erupted between the Sudanese Armed Forces and the Rapid Support Forces in April 2023.
The results were released electronically through the Sudan EduNet platform, allowing students to access their grades online.
Speaking at a press conference in Nyala, TASIS Minister of Communications and Digital Transformation Amer Toto said the platform was built with advanced cybersecurity systems designed to protect it from hacking and disruption.
The results were approved by TASIS Prime Minister Mohamed Hassan al-Taishi after the completion of technical grading and verification procedures. They were subsequently presented to Presidential Council Chairman Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo.
Celebrations were reported in Nyala, the capital of South Darfur, following the announcement as students began checking their results through the online platform.
The examinations represented a significant departure from Sudan’s previously unified national education system. For the first time, separate secondary school certificate exams were organised in territories controlled by the country’s rival authorities.
TASIS conducted its examinations after students in areas under its administration were unable to participate in exams organised by the SAF-controlled authorities. The parallel examination process reflects the broader fragmentation of Sudan’s educational and administrative institutions during the war.
