TASIS condemns Burhan’s army for deadly Kabom market attack

The Sudan Founding Alliance (TASIS) on Monday condemned the drone strike on a market in Kabom, South Darfur, saying the attack killed more than 17 civilians and wounded dozens of others.

In a statement, the alliance accused General Abdel Fattah al-Burhan’s army, which it referred to as the “Muslim Brotherhood authority,” of carrying out the strike.

According to TASIS, missiles hit a restaurant and a passenger vehicle in the market area, causing multiple casualties.

The alliance said at least 10 missiles were fired and alleged that civilians gathered in the market were deliberately targeted.

TASIS described the attack as a serious violation of international humanitarian law and humanitarian principles.

It said the strike was part of a broader campaign aimed at spreading fear among communities and inflicting civilian casualties.

The alliance also alleged that such attacks are intended to deepen tribal divisions and further destabilise conflict-affected regions.

“TASIS said grief had spread across the town as families mourned those killed in the attack.”

The group expressed condolences to the victims’ families, voiced solidarity with residents affected by the incident, and wished those injured a swift recovery.

It called for those responsible to be held accountable and said it holds Burhan’s army fully responsible for the reported attack and its consequences.
