The Interior Ministry of Sudan’s TASIS-backed Peace Government has graduated a new group of federal police personnel in Nyala, South Darfur, as the administration continues expanding its security institutions.
More than 250 recruits completed advanced training, according to sources cited by local Sudanese media, although authorities have not officially disclosed the size of the graduating class.
Federal Police Director Bashir Adam Issa said the new officers would be deployed to strengthen public security, protect civilian property and government facilities, and combat criminal activity.
Speaking during the graduation ceremony, Issa said the force would contribute to restoring stability and improving law enforcement in areas administered by the Sudan Founding Alliance (TASIS).
A senior official within the Federal Police Training Department said recruits had completed specialised programmes covering several operational disciplines, including military policing and commando training.
The latest graduation follows earlier training programmes for federal police officers in Nyala, as well as the graduation of female personnel in South Darfur’s Ed al-Fursan locality.
Nyala serves as the administrative headquarters of the TASIS-backed government, which has been establishing civilian and security institutions across areas under its control.
The government has made restoring policing and public order a stated priority, with authorities seeking to address crime, protect commercial activity and strengthen local administration amid Sudan’s continuing conflict.
