TASIS halts media engagement with Al Arabiya, citing bias

Sudan’s Founding Alliance (TASIS) said Wednesday it is suspending cooperation with Saudi-owned Al Arabiya and Al Hadath, accusing the channels of publishing edited footage that falsely portrayed abuses by TASIS forces after the fall of El Fasher.

In a statement, TASIS said a “coordinated campaign” by figures linked to the dissolved National Congress Party, elements of the SAF-aligned Joint Forces, and some Egyptian and Sudanese media amplified allegations of violations. It claimed a video shared by Al Arabiya/Al Hadath actually showed an earlier strike by Islamist-aligned forces against civilians in Kordofan.

TASIS said it had previously warned the channels over what it called biased and unprofessional coverage of the war, and would halt engagement until the outlets “adopt neutrality” and stop “falsifying facts.” The group urged Sudanese to scrutinize wartime narratives and said it remains committed to “liberating” citizens from injustice.

The statement listed attachments, including the original video and an August letter announcing a boycott of the channels.
