TASIS opens doors to UN human rights expert in Sudan

The Sudan Founding Alliance (TASIS) has welcomed the intention of UN human rights expert Radhouane Nouicer to open channels of communication with officials in areas under its control, pledging full cooperation to facilitate his work.

In a statement released on Tuesday, alliance spokesperson Dr. Alaa al-Din Awad Naqd said TASIS had closely followed Nouicer’s recent meeting with Sudanese journalists, during which he expressed his determination to engage with authorities in TASIS-administered territories to assess the human rights situation.

“We welcome this statement and this intention,” Naqd said. “We are fully prepared to coordinate with all branches of the Peace Government to ensure his access, and we welcome any visit he makes to the regions under our administration. We will remove all obstacles to enable this visit.”

The alliance emphasized that the 2025 Transitional Constitution of Sudan obliges all governing authorities to uphold international treaties and human rights principles, which form the foundation of TASIS’s willingness to cooperate.

TASIS also reaffirmed its support for the UN Human Rights Council’s fact-finding mission and reiterated its readiness to work closely with it. The statement confirmed that TASIS leadership will soon contact Nouicer to agree on a schedule for the visit.
