TASIS PM Taishi calls for unity amid Sudan’s historic turning point

Prime Minister Mohamed Hassan Al-Ta’aishi declared that Sudan is experiencing a historic turning point demanding unity and collective resolve to end the war and achieve enduring peace.

In a nationally broadcast speech on Friday, Al-Ta’aishi reaffirmed his founding government’s commitment to building a civil and democratic state grounded in justice, equality, and freedom.

He hailed the victories in El Fasher and Bara as decisive moments in the conflict, asserting that Darfur is now under the government’s full control.

The coming phase, he said, will focus on consolidating security and rebuilding state institutions on modern, professional foundations.

The Prime Minister stressed adherence to international humanitarian law and the protection of civilians, describing reported violations in El Fasher as isolated incidents that contradict state policy.

He promised that those responsible would face justice through due legal process.

Al-Ta’aishi announced a comprehensive emergency plan to restore order and civilian life, including mine clearance, demilitarisation, and the reactivation of government institutions.

He said security forces had been instructed to reinforce deployments across the states, particularly in El Fasher, to uphold the rule of law.

He also revealed the creation of a specialised civilian protection force under the direct command of a senior officer, describing the safety of citizens as a “non-negotiable priority.”

Concluding his address, Al-Ta’aishi urged an immediate and unconditional ceasefire, the opening of humanitarian corridors, and an impartial investigation into all violations.

He held the leadership of the “Islamic Movement Terrorist Army” accountable for the devastation and suffering endured by the Sudanese people.
