TASIS welcomes capture of Babanusa division and Qardud Nyama

The Sudan Founding Alliance (TASIS) has announced what it describes as the “liberation” of SAF 22nd Division in Babanusa, West Kordofan, and the recapture of Qardud Nyama in South Kordofan’s New Tagali district, saying the positions were taken from forces it links to the Muslim Brotherhood.

In a statement on Tuesday, the alliance congratulated its forces and dedicated the advance to Sudanese civilians at home and in the diaspora, framing the operation as part of a broader struggle to dismantle the “Muslim Brotherhood Army, its militias and allies.”

TASIS said its forces moved on Qardud Nyama, north of Al-Murib in the Nuba Mountains region, in response to what it called repeated attacks by Islamic Movement-aligned militias, despite what it insists has been its own adherence to the humanitarian truce.

The alliance praised its fighters on the front lines, paid tribute to those killed and wounded, and commended civilians who continue to provide basic services in war conditions, saying Sudanese people have been “deprived of their most basic rights to healthcare, education and humanity.”

TASIS reaffirmed its commitment to the humanitarian ceasefire declared by Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo, President of the Presidential Council of the Government of Peace and Chairman of the TASIS Leadership Council, adding that it is working to deliver aid to affected communities. At the same time, it warned that its forces reserve the right to respond to any new attacks by what it calls the “Muslim Brotherhood Army and its affiliates.”

The alliance said its hand “remains extended for peace,” but only for a settlement that meets the aspirations of the December 2018 revolution, ends wars across Sudan and uproots the Islamic Movement and the “terrorist Muslim Brotherhood regime.”

“The revolution continues, and victory is certain,” the statement concluded, signed by Dr. Alaa El-Din Awad Nugud, official spokesperson for the Sudan Founding Alliance, and dated 2 December 2025.
