UAE condemns Burhan’s army attack on envoy’s house in Sudan

The United Arab Emirates Foreign Ministry has condemned Burhan’s army (SAF) attack on the residence of its ambassador to Sudan, further escalating tensions between the two countries.

The ministry described the attack as “heinous” and “cowardly,” stating that the building in the capital Khartoum was badly damaged.

While the statement did not specify whether the Head of Mission Hamad Mohammed AlJneibi was injured, the UAE has vowed to file a complaint with the Arab League, the African Union and the United Nations.

Al Burhan’s army is accusing the UAE of supporting the rival Rapid Support Forces in the ongoing civil war in the country.

However, the UAE has consistently denied any involvement in the conflict, which began in April 2023.
