UAE pledges 20 million dollars to fight hunger crisis in Sudan

The United Arab Emirates pledged $20 million to the World Food Programme to combat the worsening humanitarian crisis in Sudan.

This strategic grant aims to deliver life-saving food assistance to millions of people displaced by the country’s ongoing, violent conflict.

Signed by the Emirates International Aid Agency, the agreement targets vulnerable populations within Sudan and across its neighboring host borders.

Nations receiving vital support through this initiative include Chad, South Sudan, Ethiopia, and Uganda, where refugees seek immediate, desperate sanctuary.

Agency President Tariq Al Ameri emphasized that global cooperation is essential to halt the rising tide of famine and suffering.

Executing this mission, Rashid Al Shamsi and Bashar Al Hammami formalized the partnership to ensure swift delivery of emergency supplies.

The UAE’s contribution serves as a beacon of hope for communities teetering on the edge of a catastrophic food shortage.

This humanitarian gesture reaffirms the nation’s commitment to alleviating human misery and stabilizing a region currently gripped by deep uncertainty.
