UAE’s Gargash calls for strict enforcement of Sudan ceasefire

Anwar Gargash, adviser to the Emirates President, called on Saturday for an immediate end to Sudan’s devastating civil war.

He stressed that the ceasefire must be enforced and perpetrators of atrocities held accountable, warning that Sudan’s unity is at risk.

Clashes continue between General Abdel Fattah al Burhan’s army and Rapid Support Forces across several regions, displacing tens of thousands.

US President Donald Trump announced efforts last week, at Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman’s request, to halt the conflict.

Rapid Support Forces, led by Mohammed Hamdan Dagalo, welcomed the international initiatives but accused Burhan of obstructing the truce.

In response to the worsening humanitarian crisis, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Egypt, and the United States launched a three-month humanitarian truce.

The international community continues to press for a ceasefire, while Sudanese civilians face mounting suffering and displacement.
