The UN human rights chief has called for the protection of civilians, markets, and health facilities amid Sudan’s continuing conflict.
Volker Türk spoke in Port Sudan at the end of his visit, warning that attacks on civilian infrastructure remain a serious concern.
He said drone use has increased in recent months, as fighting continues more than two years after it began.
Türk visited the Merowe power station, where damage to major facilities has disrupted electricity and essential services.
He reported widespread suffering, including long sieges, food shortages, and the collapse of basic living conditions.
The UN official said the International Criminal Court is expected to begin investigations into alleged violations linked to the war.
