US institute warns Sudanese Muslim Brotherhood aligns with Iran

The American Gatestone Institute warned that the Sudanese Muslim Brotherhood has aligned with Iran’s “axis of resistance,” fueled by recent evidence.

The institute cited videos and audio recordings emerging after the American-Israeli operation in Iran as proof of the Brotherhood’s ideological shift.

Sudanese leaders of the Muslim Brotherhood openly pledged loyalty to Tehran and signalled readiness to send forces against any American-Israeli ground intervention.

The campaign targeted Arab Gulf states, involving figures such as Naji Abdullah, Yasser Obaidullah, Youssef Alam, and Naji Mustafa of Al-Furqan Battalion.

According to the report, the speeches reflect a hostile Iranian doctrine promoting resistance against the West and moderate Arab nations in familiar patterns.

Sudan’s ongoing war since April 2023 has created a fertile environment for Iran’s influence and the spread of the Brotherhood’s ideology.

The report recommends treating the Muslim Brotherhood as a primary target in the next phase of the “war on terror” following Iran.

All branches of the Brotherhood should be classified as terrorist organizations to restrict their operational and ideological reach globally.

Authorities are urged to dismantle financial networks and curb the group’s influence in educational, religious, and charitable institutions.

The institute stressed that the Muslim Brotherhood is as dangerous as the Iranian regime, maintaining influence in the West despite regional bans.

Its network continues promoting ideology through research centres, charitable fronts, and covert organizations, posing long-term strategic and security challenges worldwide.
