RSF reassures citizens amidst ongoing conflict

Sudan’s Rapid Support Forces (RSF) have issued a statement to reassure the people in both urban and rural areas liberated from coup plotters and elements of the Islamic terrorist movement that citizens safety is their top priority.

The Sudanese group emphasized that innocent citizens are not targets in the ongoing military conflict between General Burhan’s forces (SAF) and RSF.

The statement underlined that RSF soldiers are ready to sacrifice their lives to save the country from it they described as a “tyrannical regime marked by widespread corruption, racism, and terrorism for over three decades.”

The RSF addressed the displacement of people from cities and liberated areas, attributing it to fears of air attacks by army aircraft and militias.

Drawing attention to SAF airstrikes on Sunday morning, targeting multiple locations in Nyala, South Darfur, and El Geneina, West Darfur.

The SAF air strikes resulted in civilian casualties, including deaths and injuries.

RSF also blasted disinformation campaign of the “Islamic terrorist movement, aimed at spreading fear and panic among the populace.”

RSF urged citizens to stay in their homes, with assurances that RSF forces are committed to providing protection.

The statement pointed to the relative stability in the capital, Khartoum, and several cities in Darfur, Jazira, and Kordofan, despite desperate raids by military aircraft.

The RSF acknowledged the suffering of the people and reaffirmed their commitment to fighting for peace and stability in Sudan, uprooting the corrupt junta, and opening a new, bright chapter in the nation’s history.
