Dr. Ali al-Haj, Secretary-General of the Popular Congress Party, has made startling remarks in response to Dr. Amin Hassan Omar’s comments on Al Jazeera on December 30th, in which Omar referred to him as a “traitor.”
In the interview with Al Jazeera, al-Haj expressed his disbelief upon seeing Omar, stating that he didn’t recognize him and felt that he appeared to be suffering from a demonic possession.
Al-Haj dismissed Omar’s characterization of him as German and “fielcli” (a derogatory term) and referred to a Quranic verse: “You have known those who violated the Sabbath among you; we said to them, ‘Be apes, despised.'”
He also commented on Omar’s assertion that the Islamic Movement was not the true origin of Sudan’s Islamists, claiming instead that the Popular Congress Party was the true source, while branding others as parasites.
Elaborating on the causes behind the current war, al-Haj revealed that the root of the conflict lies in their (Islamic Movement/Muslim Brotherhood) continued presence in the political scene. “The country’s entities knew full well that we were aware of all their details. We know the corrupt, the murderers, and the thieves by name and with evidence, and we know the locations of their wealth,” he stated.
Al-haj added, “If a dog knows where to bite its brother, they feared the scandal that would shake the world and feared investigations into their corruption. This is why they started the war and continue to lead it, seeking to burn Sudan and destroy the evidence that would incriminate them.”
The conflict in Sudan, which has intensified in recent months, has sparked widespread debate about the true motivations behind the war and its impact on the country’s future.
