RAC factions sign Sudan charter, advancing “New Sudan” project

The Sudan Founding Alliance (Tasees) has announced that the Revolutionary Awakening Council (RAC) factions have officially signed the Sudan Founding Charter in Nairobi, Kenya. The move is hailed as a crucial step in advancing the “New Sudan” project, which aims to establish a just and inclusive nation.

In a statement published by Assayha, the Sudan Founding Alliance expressed its support for the signing, emphasizing that this agreement marks a significant milestone toward realizing a Sudan built on justice, equality, and equal citizenship for all.

The Alliance reaffirmed its dedication to the revolutionary cause, driven by the sacrifices of Sudan’s martyrs throughout history, and its commitment to restoring the rights of the Sudanese people.

The Alliance’s vision is to create a secular and democratic state that provides a dignified, stable, and secure life for its citizens while eliminating all forms of discrimination. It stresses that the future of the new Sudan depends on overcoming the historical divisions and exclusions that have shaped Sudanese politics. The aim is to dismantle the destructive “us versus them” mentality, which has left marginalized Sudanese communities suffering from injustice and inequality.

The Sudan Founding Alliance highlighted the importance of fostering a culture of unity, where Sudanese men and women, regardless of their religion, ethnicity, or race, can coexist within a state governed by justice, equality, and the rule of law.

The Alliance also acknowledged the RAC factions for their early recognition of the root causes of Sudan’s conflict and their armed resistance against the central government’s oppressive institutions. By signing the Charter, the RAC factions have committed to contributing to the collective effort of building a more inclusive and fair nation.
