UAE urges Sudan peace, slams Port Sudan junta claims

The United Arab Emirates has called for an end to Sudan’s civil war, reaffirming its “steadfast support for the Sudanese people’s quest for peace, stability, and a dignified future,” according to Afra Al Hameli, Director of Strategic Communications at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

In a post on X, Al Hameli said the UAE has backed regional and international efforts for an immediate ceasefire, civilian protection, and accountability for violations by all warring parties. She stressed the UAE’s support for a civilian-led process that prioritizes the needs of Sudan’s people over any faction’s interests.

Al Hameli also condemned what she described as a “systematic campaign of false allegations” by the self-declared Port Sudan SAF junta, accusing them of undermining peace efforts and prolonging the war to evade responsibility for their actions.

She said the UAE remains committed to working closely with partners to promote dialogue, mobilize international support, and contribute to humanitarian and peace initiatives aimed at securing a safe and stable future for Sudan.
