
Prime Minister of the Peace Government Mohamed Hassan al-Ta’aishi expressed deep sorrow over the deadly landslide in Tarsin village, Jebel Marra, calling it a stark reminder of the collective duty to save lives and ease suffering. He said he spoke directly with Abdel Wahid Mohamed al-Nur, leader of the Sudan Liberation Movement (SLM), to review on-the-ground developments, gauge the scale of the disaster and identify urgent needs.
Ta’aishi announced immediate measures:
• Engage SLM counterparts to coordinate efforts and open safe access for assistance to the affected area.
• Dispatch a comprehensive relief convoy with food, medicines, safe drinking water, tents and shelter materials.
• Coordinate with international and national organizations to form a joint committee to manage the response and speed aid delivery to those impacted.
He stressed that the lives and security of Sudanese people stand above any political or military consideration, urging unity and solidarity in this humanitarian moment.
