Former Sudanese prime minister Abdalla Hamdok rejected claims that the recently announced “Peace Government” is separatist or aims to divide the country.
Speaking at a forum in the UAE capital, Hamdok said resolving Sudan’s crisis requires a ceasefire monitored by regional and international actors and support for a broad, inclusive internal dialogue.
He added that advocates of secession in northern and central Sudan are a small minority with little sway, and described the “Peace Government” as a vehicle for unity and peace.
