Sudan Founding Alliance (TASIS) Prime Minister Mohamed Hassan al-Ta’aishi held meetings in Nyala with traditional leaders, military commanders and advisers to the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) chief to discuss the security situation, multiple local sources said on Wednesday.
The session, convened Tuesday at the state secretariat, examined delays in salary payments to fighters and a slowdown in recent security operations, the sources told local media. They said the discussion also covered launching new security sweeps across the state’s localities, inventorying combat vehicles and redeploying them to active fronts.
Separately, a resident from northern Nyala districts reported tensions within an RSF patrol over accusations of “fifth-column” infiltration and ethnic bias among participating forces. With official rations reportedly halted, neighborhood residents have been providing food and water to the patrols, the resident said.
In July, RSF military police announced a security campaign to curb criminality and rein in rogue elements from both armed personnel and civilians, including a ban on carrying firearms in public and the establishment of checkpoints across the city. Local sources said the campaign helped restore a measure of normal life.
