The Darfur region’s governor in the Founding Government, Al-Hadi Idris, on Thursday issued a decree dissolving all civilian administrations in Darfur.
The order, seen by Darfur24, cites Article 52(d) and Article 67(2) of Sudan’s 2025 Transitional Constitution. It instructs current administrative leaders to continue handling day-to-day state affairs until regional government structures are formed, and directs relevant authorities to take steps to implement the decision.
Rapid Support Forces (RSF) authorities had previously set up civilian administrations in areas under their control to assume basic government functions.
The Founding Alliance in March endorsed a political charter and transitional constitution to establish a civilian government to the Port Sudan-led SAF junta. In August, it announced a cabinet built around a 15-member Presidential Council headed by the RSF commander, with Abdel Aziz al-Hilu as deputy. The council named Mohamed Hassan al-Ta’aishi as prime minister.
