Sisi meets Trump adviser Boulos to discuss peace in Sudan

Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi met with Massad Boulos, senior advisor to US President Donald Trump, to discuss ongoing efforts to end the war in Sudan and strengthen regional stability. According to an official statement, both sides reviewed ways to support diplomatic initiatives aimed at halting the conflict that has devastated Sudan for more than two years.

They emphasised the importance of international cooperation and praised Egypt’s pivotal role in leading regional mediation. President Sisi reaffirmed Cairo’s commitment to pursuing a political settlement and prevent further regional destabilisation.

He also underlined the need for coordinated humanitarian efforts to ease the suffering of civilians trapped by the fighting. Following the meeting, Boulos wrote on X that he was pleased to meet with Sisi, saying their talks focused on “regional challenges and paths toward peace.”

He added that “the United States appreciates Egypt’s leadership in addressing conflicts, including its constructive role in Sudan and its partnership within the Quartet.” The Quartet — which includes Egypt, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, and the United States — has been working to promote a ceasefire and a long-term peace process in Sudan.
