RSF to expand campaign toward Port Sudan, Omdurman: Dagalo

Lieutenant General Abdel Rahim Dagalo, deputy commander of Sudan’s Rapid Support Forces (RSF), has vowed to continue military operations after forces aligned with the General Abdel Fattah al Burhan’s army (SAF), militias and the Bara Battalion after control of El Fasher. In his first public appearance following the announcement, Abdel Rahim Dagalo warned that the fighting would not stop, pledging to extend operations toward Port Sudan and Omdurman in the coming period.

In a video widely circulated on social media, Dagalo declared El Fasher “safe and secured by our heroes,” urging his fighters to protect civilian property and state facilities. He called for discipline among troops, particularly those arriving from Nyala and El Geneina, and stressed the importance of maintaining order in the city.

The RSF deputy commander also cautioned his forces against responding to what he described as “treasonous calls” for chaos, urging them to preserve the image of the security forces and ensure the safety of residents during combing operations. His remarks came amid renewed tensions across Darfur, where both the RSF and Burhan’s army (SAF) have sought to consolidate control of key towns.

The liberation of El Fasher marks a significant turning point in the conflict.
