The United Nations has warned of imminent intensified fighting in Sudan’s Kordofan region, urging an immediate halt to the violence.
The warning follows the Rapid Support Forces’ (RSF) capture of El-Fasher, General Abdel Fattah al Burhan army’s last major stronghold in Darfur, and their apparent shift toward Kordofan.
Türk called on all states to stop providing military support to parties committing abuses and demanded urgent international action to prevent further atrocities.
The RSF’s seizure of El-Fasher gives them control over all five Darfur state capitals.
