Sudan tennis star to face Djibouti rival at Riyadh Games

Sudanese tennis champion Mohamed Al-Hadi is set to play a strong match today against Burhan Abdelrazak of Djibouti in the Islamic Solidarity Games currently taking place in Riyadh, as he aims to advance to the next round of the competition. His teammate, internationally ranked player Mutasim Idris, is awaiting the tournament draw to determine his next opponent.

Sudan’s national team coach Abdelwahab Al-Sini expressed confidence in his players’ readiness, saying that the team has overcome many challenges to reach the tournament.

“We will not focus on differences in resources or preparation,” he said. “What matters is that Sudan’s players have surpassed difficulties to be here. Qualifying to this championship is an achievement in itself. We will continue working with determination until we win a medal that raises Sudan’s name.”

For his part, Mohamed Al-Hadi called on the Sudanese public and sports community to support the national team, saying that the values of the tournament strengthen his sense of responsibility.

“Our capabilities are strong, and despite the challenges, we carry Sudan in our hearts,” he said. “We have a big motivation to achieve a result that brings joy to the Sudanese people, even though the match will be tough.”
