Sudanair faces crisis as its only aircraft remains held in France

Sudanair is facing a fresh crisis after its only aircraft was held in France for four months, despite completing scheduled maintenance and technical inspections carried out by a specialised French company.

According to available information, the aircraft had entered a routine maintenance programme, but the French company refused to release it after all technical procedures were completed because Sudanair had not paid the outstanding maintenance bill.

This development places Sudanair under greater pressure at a time when the country is already struggling, as the absence of its sole aircraft prevents the resumption of regular flights, and raises serious questions about the future of Sudan’s national carrier and the financial and administrative challenges it must address.
