Rsf accuses Burhan’s army of strike on key Adre border route

The Rapid Support Forces (RSF) accused the General Abdel Fattah al Burhan’s army of launching a drone strike on the Adre border crossing on Friday.

The group said drones targeted the Adikon Gate in what they described as a deliberate attempt to disrupt a vital humanitarian corridor.

The Adre crossing links Sudan and Chad and serves as a key route for aid and commercial supplies reaching civilians trapped in the country’s war.

RSF officials said the strike was intended to obstruct relief efforts and deepen the suffering of communities already facing severe shortages.

They warned that attacks on humanitarian routes pose a direct threat to aid agencies and place relief workers at serious risk.

The group called on the Quartet Mechanism, the United Nations and the UN Security Council to act swiftly to halt further strikes and hold those responsible accountable.

They argued that continued international silence has emboldened perpetrators and encouraged more attacks on civilians and relief infrastructure.

The RSF insisted it remains capable of securing the border crossing and ensuring the safe passage of humanitarian assistance.

It reiterated its condemnation of the strike and voiced alarm over what it described as the absence of a firm global response.
