Dagalo inspects Heglig and criticises Burhan

RSF deputy commander Abdel Rahim Dagalo inspected the Heglig oil fields and surrounding areas, accompanied by the regional governor and several field commanders. Among them was Colonel Juma, who announced that oil facilities and sites had been fully secured.

Addressing RSF forces during the visit, Dagalo said his troops remained resilient in the face of what he described as “remnants’ air power”, pledging to continue military operations. He said the RSF was pressing ahead with what he called the “liberation of Sudan”, despite the destruction seen in some areas, adding that reconstruction efforts would continue regardless of the challenges.

Criticism of Burhan and warnings over humanitarian conditions

Dagalo directed sharp criticism at Abdel Fattah al Burhan, head of the Sovereignty Council and commander of the SAF, accusing him and what he described as an Islamist alliance of benefiting from public funds abroad while citizens face severe humanitarian conditions, particularly in oil producing regions.

He said the suffering he witnessed in Heglig reflected the scale of deterioration faced by local communities, adding that current developments mark what he called “the beginning of larger transformations”. Dagalo urged his forces to continue holding their ground and fighting.

Continued field operations

Dagalo stressed that the coming phase would bring new developments on the ground, reaffirming that the RSF would not retreat from what he described as the Sudanese people’s right to their natural resources.
