RSF rejects Kamil Idris proposal

The Rapid Support Forces have sharply criticised a political initiative put forward by Kamil Idris, describing it as detached from reality and little more than a rehash of what they call the exhausted, exclusionary rhetoric of SAF commander Abdel Fattah al Burhan.

Al Basha Tabeeg, adviser to the RSF commander, said the proposal offers nothing new and merely repackages a discourse that seeks to sideline key actors on the ground while pretending to chart a political path forward.

In a post published on social media, Tabeeg said calls for the RSF to withdraw from areas under its control, alongside repeated references to the force as a militia, are closer to fantasy than politics. He argued that such language reflects a complete disconnect from the realities of the war and the balance of power on the ground.

Tabeeg added that initiatives of this kind fail to present any genuine solutions to Sudan’s crisis. Instead, he said, they function as tools to mislead the international community and give Sudanese people the false impression that a viable political process exists.

He stressed that the RSF remains firm in its positions and will not accept any initiative that ignores its role in the conflict or attempts to impose outcomes that do not reflect realities on the battlefield.
