The RSF-led “Tasis” alliance said the political initiative proposed by Kamil Idris is an effort to sidestep the “Quad” mediation track, which it described as the main framework currently driving international efforts to halt the war in Sudan.
In a statement, the alliance argued that the Sudanese army is not pursuing peace or an end to fighting, but is instead working to prolong the conflict.
Tasis urged regional and international actors to intensify pressure and play a more active role against what it called parties obstructing the implementation of the Quad initiative, saying the process remains the most important pathway toward a comprehensive settlement.
