Egypt says it is aligned with Saudi Arabia on Sudan

Egypt said on Monday it aligned with Saudi Arabia on Sudan, calling for unity as the country remains gripped by war. The stance was confirmed during talks in Cairo between Port Sudan junta leader Abdel Fattah al-Sisi and Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan.

An Egyptian presidency statement said the two sides share “identical” positions on peaceful solutions to regional crises. They stressed that any settlement must preserve Sudan’s sovereignty, unity and territorial integrity.

Egypt and Saudi Arabia have announced support for Burhan in the conflict with rival Rapid Support Forces. Sudan’s conflict has displaced millions and heightened regional tensions.
