West Darfur health centers halt services after funding stops abruptly

West Darfur has reported 34 health centers have stopped services over the past two months.

The closures followed the halt of external funding that previously supported operations and management by international organisations.

Affected centers include 12 in Al-Junaynah, eight in Krinik, seven in Sarba, three in Kalbus, and two each in Habila and Jabal Mun.

Two organisations completely ceased operations, while another shifted focus to mental health services at Al-Junaynah Hospital.

The ministry warned closures will worsen health conditions and urged donors and humanitarian groups to restore essential services urgently.
