Fire destroys homes and livelihoods in Sudan’s North Kordofan

A large fire tore through the village of Kindwa Ahmed in Sudan’s North Kordofan state, destroying homes and property, local sources have reported.

The blaze spread rapidly across the central Umm Rawaba locality, causing heavy material losses estimated at billions of Sudanese pounds.

Several families lost their homes, crops, and essential goods, leaving many residents without shelter or basic necessities.

The fire created severe humanitarian conditions, with affected families facing urgent shortages of food, shelter, and medical support.

Residents appealed to Sudan’s Humanitarian Aid Commission, the Sudanese Red Crescent, and relief organisations to provide immediate assistance, including tents, food supplies, and medical aid.
