TASIS announces advances in Sudan’s Blue Nile region

The Sudan Founding Alliance Forces (TASIS), which includes the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) and the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement–North (SPLM-N), said on Tuesday it had taken control of the strategic town of Kurmuk in Sudan’s Blue Nile region following intense fighting.

In a statement, the alliance said its forces had also captured the nearby areas of Al-Kili and Al-Baraka after what it described as “fierce battles” against General al-Burhan’s army and allied fighters.

TASIS claimed it inflicted heavy losses, alleging that more than 400 opposing troops were killed, with others wounded or captured, including senior officers. The alliance also said it seized dozens of military vehicles, tanks and weapons, while destroying additional equipment during the clashes.

The group added that its fighters had established positions around Kurmuk and other newly captured locations, saying the deployments were aimed at securing territory and protecting civilians as operations continue.

TASIS described the advance as part of a broader push across multiple fronts in the Blue Nile region, adding that its forces were moving toward what it called “remaining strongholds.”
