The Sudan Founding Alliance (TASIS) has accused General al-Burhan’s army (SAF) of carrying out a deadly drone strike on a hospital in West Kordofan, describing the attack as a deliberate war crime and part of a broader campaign against civilians.
In a statement issued on April 7, TASIS said a military drone launched two missiles at Abu Zabad Hospital on April 6 while it was crowded with patients and civilians.
According to the alliance, at least two civilians were killed and seven others wounded, including women and children.
TASIS said the targeting of a medical facility constitutes a “grave violation of international humanitarian law” and the Geneva Conventions, stressing that such attacks cannot be justified under any circumstances.
The alliance framed the strike as part of what it described as an escalating and systematic campaign by General al-Burhan’s army, accusing its leadership of deliberately targeting hospitals, markets, and civilian infrastructure across Sudan.
“This army did not start this war for peace or stability, but to return to power through bloodshed, destruction, and terror,” the statement said.
TASIS further rejected any role for the SAF in future political processes, stating that forces responsible for such actions “cannot be partners in peace and cannot be trusted.”
The alliance called on the international community, including the United Nations, African Union, and European Union, to urgently investigate the incident, hold those responsible accountable, and take immediate steps to protect civilians.
It also warned that continued inaction by global actors would amount to complicity.
TASIS reaffirmed its commitment to continue what it described as the struggle alongside the Sudanese people until “freedom, peace, and justice” are achieved.
