Sudan Peace Govt calls for immediate humanitarian truce

Sudan’s TASIS said it is prepared to end the war in Sudan and called for an immediate humanitarian truce, as efforts to halt the conflict continue.

Prime Minister Mohammed Hassan al-Taayshi said in a statement that the government has “absolute readiness” to move toward ending hostilities and facilitating urgent humanitarian relief.

“The option of peace is not merely a verbal pronouncement, but an institutional choice supported by the legitimacy of the people,” al-Taayshi said.

He added that the initiative forms part of broader efforts to establish a new political order grounded in the rule of law and functioning state institutions, while pursuing a “just and comprehensive peace” capable of delivering long-term stability.

The announcement comes amid ongoing fighting across Sudan and growing international calls for a ceasefire to allow humanitarian access to affected areas.
