At least four civilians have been killed and four others injured in a drone strike on El Geneina in Sudan’s West Darfur region, the TASIS government said on Wednesday.
The Sudan Founding Alliance (TASIS) blamed the “Muslim Brotherhood terrorist army” for carrying out the attack, saying drones struck the city on Tuesday.
The group said the strike targeted unarmed civilians in El Geneina, a city already severely affected by ongoing conflict, where residents have been mourning amid rising destruction and displacement.
TASIS vowed to respond, stating that those responsible would be held accountable and that the incident “will not be subject to any statute of limitations” under any future political settlement.
It also accused opposing forces of attempting to provoke attacks on civilians in areas under army control, warning that such actions could further inflame ethnic and political tensions.
The alliance said its own forces do not target civilians and contrasted its conduct with that of rival military groups operating in Sudan.
TASIS criticised the continued regional and international silence over abuses in territories under the Peace Government’s control.
It further accused General Abdel Fattah al Burhan’s army of spreading division along ethnic and tribal lines during the ongoing conflict.
Spokesperson Dr Alaaeldin Awad Nugud said the group’s political and military struggle was “irreversible,” adding sharp criticism of the opposing side’s ideology and conduct.
