US condemns Burhan’s army strike that killed 28 Sudanese

The United States condemned the General Abdel Fattah al-Burhan’s army’s killing of 28 civilians in a drone strike on a crowded market in Ghabish, West Kordofan state.

Washington said the attack also wounded dozens as panic swept through the devastated marketplace.

US officials said another airstrike struck a humanitarian facility in Kauda, South Kordofan, deepening fears over escalating violence across Sudan.

The statement described the attacks as part of a worsening conflict that continues to trap civilians beneath the shadow of war.

The United States called for an immediate end to hostilities and urged both sides to accept a humanitarian truce without delay.

Officials said the proposed pause would allow medical evacuations and ensure unrestricted aid access to communities facing growing hardship and displacement.

The statement stressed that protecting civilians must remain a priority as humanitarian conditions deteriorate and emergency needs rapidly expand across conflict zones.

Sudan’s war has carved deeper scars across the country, with airstrikes and ground fighting leaving civilians exposed to mounting danger and uncertainty.
