The Rapid Support Forces (RSF) leadership has announced strict measures to tackle rising lawlessness, market looting and indiscipline in South Darfur’s capital Nayala.
The crackdown follows reports of armed gangs terrorising traders since the RSF seized control of the war-torn city.
The RSF says specialised security units will be deployed to restore order, while rights groups accuse its authorities of using the campaign to intensify political repression and detentions.
